Under the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, the Network Planning Group (NPG) has evaluated 352 central infrastructure projects with a total estimated cost of Rs 16.10 lakh crore, the government informed Parliament. Of these, 201 projects have been sanctioned, and 167 are currently under implementation.
The NPG assesses projects at the planning stage to ensure integrated and multimodal infrastructure development, last-mile connectivity, and data-driven decision-making.
To support states, the Ministry of Finance has provided Rs 5,000 crore as 50-year interest-free loans under the Scheme for Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment for PM GatiShakti-linked infrastructure projects.
Project implementation of large central sector projects costing Rs 150 crore and above is monitored by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation through the PAIMANA portal, while projects exceeding Rs 500 crore are tracked by the Project Monitoring Group (PMG) using a structured escalation mechanism integrated with PRAGATI.
