HFCL Ltd secures USD 1.10 bn long-term OFC supply agreement

HFCL Ltd has entered into a five-year supply agreement with a global multinational corporation for the supply of high-quality, high-fibre-count Optical Fiber Cables (OFC) through its overseas wholly owned subsidiary.

The total potential value of the contract is estimated at around USD 1.10 billion (approximately Rs 10,159 crore) based on prevailing selling prices of OFC products. The agreement marks the first long-term, multi-year OFC supply arrangement of this scale in the company’s history.

Under the terms of the agreement, HFCL’s subsidiary will supply a minimum quantity of multi-million fibre kilometres (fkm) of OFC annually from calendar year 2026 to 2028, with the contract set to automatically extend for two additional years (CY29 and CY30). Purchase orders will be released periodically during the contract period based on project-specific and specification-wise requirements, and the subsidiary will also be eligible to supply OFC to the customer’s authorised affiliates and assignees.

The contract, which is international in nature, is scheduled to be executed until December 2030. The company clarified that neither the promoter group nor group companies have any interest in the entity awarding the contract, and the deal does not fall under related-party transactions.

HFCL noted that only a limited number of manufacturers globally possess the technological capability, manufacturing precision, and scale required for such complex OFC products, and the agreement significantly strengthens its competitive position in the global optical fibre cable market while supporting its long-term growth outlook.
