Suzlon secures sixth repeat wind energy order of 100 MW from GAIL

Suzlon Group has announced that it has secured its sixth repeat wind energy order of around 100 MW from Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL), further strengthening its presence in the PSU segment. This also marks Suzlon’s fourth PSU order in FY26, highlighting its growing execution capabilities and strong industry positioning.

The power generated from this project will be used to support the decarbonisation of GAIL’s upcoming petrochemical plant in Nandurbar, Maharashtra.

Suzlon will install 47 S120 wind turbine generators (WTGs), each with a capacity of 2.1 MW. The company will handle the complete scope of the project, including supply of turbines, equipment installation, erection, commissioning, and post-commissioning operations and maintenance services.

With over 2.2 GW of installed capacity and around 38% market share in Maharashtra, Suzlon continues to play a key role in strengthening the state’s position as a renewable energy hub.

Commenting on the development, CEO Ajay Kapur said the order reflects the company’s long-standing partnership with GAIL spanning over 15 years. He added that Suzlon is expanding this collaboration into Maharashtra after executing projects together in states like Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. He also highlighted that PSU and commercial & industrial (C&I) segments now account for over 64% of the company’s order book, following its re-entry into the PSU space with a major order from NTPC two years ago.
