As of March 2026, 42.56% is owned by Indian Promoters and 57.44% by Public.

Institutional holds 36.87% (Insurance Companies 6.21%) and Non-Institutional holds 20.49% as Public shareholders.

Top five Promoters holding highest number of shares of Tata Motors company are Tata Sons Private Limited (14782.64 lakhs shares / 40.14%), Tata Industries Limited (722.04 lakhs shares / 1.96%), Tata Investment Corporation Limited (110.00 lakhs shares / 0.30%), Ewart Investments Limited (33.84 lakhs shares / 0.09%) and Tata Chemicals Limited (19.66 lakhs shares / 0.05%).
