The bank reported standalone net profit of Rs 19,221.05 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2026 as compared to Rs 17616.14 crore in the same period last year, registering a year-on-yearÿgrowthÿof 9.11 per cent.
Interest income of the bank declined by 1.10 per cent at Rs 76610.02 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2026 as against Rs 77460.11 crore in the corresponding period last year.
During the January-March quarter, total income rose by 0.36 per cent to Rs 89,808.90 crore from Rs 89,487.99 crore in the year ago period.
Meanwhile, operating expenses dropped by 1.50 per cent to Rs 62,005.98 crore from Rs 62,951.29 crore in the same period last year.
Operating profit surged 4.77 per cent to Rs 27,802.92 crore from Rs. 26,536.70 crore.
Provisions and Contingencies slipped by 18.27 per cent at Rs 2,609.57 crore from Rs 3,193.05 crore a year ago.
NII, the difference between interest earned on loans and interest paid on deposits, increased by 3.17 per cent at Rs 33,081.57 crore versus Rs 32,065.80 crore in the year ago period. Non-interest income rose 9.74 per cent year-on-year to Rs 13,198.88 crore.
On the asset side, gross non- performing assets (NPAs)ÿfellÿto 1.15 per cent of the gross advances as at the end of March 31, 2026 from a level of 1.33 per cent year earlier. Its net NPAs or bad loans tooÿdeclinedÿto 0.38 per cent of net advances on March 31, 2026 from 0.43 per cent a year ago.
