IEX trade volume rises 16.6% YoY to Over 12,000 MU in April

Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) reported a strong performance for April, with traded electricity volume rising 16.6% year-on-year to 12,341 million units (MU).

The growth was driven by robust demand in the day-ahead market, where buy bids surged 31% YoY, while sell bids increased 35% YoY.

Amid higher power demand, the average market-clearing price stood at Rs 5.26 per unit, marking a 1% increase compared to the same period last year.
