RBI announces Rs 50,000 crore VRR auction to manage liquidity

The Reserve Bank of India has announced a 3-day Variable Rate Repo (VRR) auction under the Liquidity Adjustment Facility (LAF) framework to address evolving liquidity conditions in the banking system.

The auction will be conducted on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, with a notified amount of ?50,000 crore. The bidding window will remain open from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM, while the reversal date has been scheduled for May 15, 2026 (Friday).

The central bank stated that the operational guidelines for the auction will remain the same as those outlined in its January 20, 2022 press release.
