Dalmia Bharat Limited announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Limited (DCBL), has signed a Business Transfer Agreement with Jaiprakash Associates Limited and Adani Infra (India) Limited for the acquisition of cement assets with a total capacity of 5.2 million tonnes per annum (MnTPA) in the Central region.
The acquisition, valued at Rs 2,850 crore, includes cement plants located in Rewa (Madhya Pradesh), and Churk, Chunar, and Sadwa (Uttar Pradesh), along with 3.3 MnTPA clinker capacity. The deal also covers 99 MW of thermal power capacity and railway siding infrastructure at select locations.
Following the acquisition, Dalmia Bharat’s total cement capacity will rise to 54.7 MnTPA. Ongoing expansion projects at Belgaum, Pune, and Kadapa are expected to further increase the company’s capacity to 66.7 MnTPA by Q2-Q3 FY28.
The company said the transaction will strengthen its presence in Central India, provide faster market access compared to greenfield expansion, and support its long-term strategy of becoming a pan-India cement player. The acquisition is expected to be completed within two weeks.
