Meta and CleanMax expand renewable energy partnership to over 900 MW in India

Meta and CleanMax have announced a major renewable energy partnership in India that will support the development of approximately 900 MW of renewable energy capacity. As part of the collaboration, CleanMax will develop and operate 837 MW of new solar and wind projects across Rajasthan and Karnataka. Combined with previously announced projects, the partnership now exceeds 900 MW of renewable energy capacity.

The projects are expected to support Meta's commitment to matching its electricity consumption with 100% clean and renewable energy while helping reduce emissions across its value chain in the region. Under the agreement, Meta will purchase 100% of the environmental attributes generated by the renewable energy projects.

The partnership builds on the existing relationship between the two companies and highlights the growing importance of corporate-led renewable energy procurement in accelerating India's clean energy transition.

Commenting on the development, Kuldeep Jain said that as digital and AI-driven infrastructure continues to expand, clean energy will play a critical role in powering future growth. He added that CleanMax is pleased to support Meta's renewable energy ambitions while contributing to India's sustainability goals.

Amanda Yang stated that the agreements mark significant progress toward Meta's renewable energy objectives in the region and will help bring additional clean energy capacity to India's power grid.

The collaboration further strengthens CleanMax's position as a sustainability partner for corporate customers pursuing large-scale decarbonization initiatives, while underscoring the vital role of renewable energy in supporting the rapid expansion of digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence technologies.
