RBI to conduct Rs 50,000 crore overnight VRR auction on July 9

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced an overnight Variable Rate Repo (VRR) auction under the Liquidity Adjustment Facility (LAF) to manage evolving liquidity conditions in the banking system.

The central bank will conduct a Rs 50,000 crore VRR auction on July 9, 2026, with a one-day tenor. The auction window will remain open from 12:15 PM to 12:45 PM, and funds will be reversed on July 10, 2026.

The RBI said the auction will be conducted in accordance with the operational guidelines issued under its January 20, 2022 framework for Variable Rate Repo auctions.
