The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced that the premature redemption of Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) 2020-21 Series IV will be available on July 14, 2026, in accordance with the Government of India's Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme.

The RBI has fixed the redemption price at Rs 14,307 per unit, based on the simple average of the closing price of 999 purity gold published by the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) over the previous three business days—July 9, July 10 and July 13, 2026.

Under the Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme, investors are permitted to opt for premature redemption after the completion of five years from the date of issue, on the scheduled interest payment dates.
