Lupin Limited has announced the strategic spin-off of its two oncology drug candidates—LNP7457 (PRMT5) and LNP8701 (SOS1)—into Kaveri Therapeutics Inc., a US-based clinical-stage oncology company, to accelerate their global development.

Under the agreement, Lupin's wholly owned subsidiary Lupin Inc. will retain a significant equity stake in Kaveri, provide seed funding, and grant the company exclusive rights to develop the two programs. Kaveri will independently advance the candidates through global clinical trials.

Both oncology programs have shown encouraging clinical results, with LNP7457 and LNP8701 reporting positive data at the ASCO 2025 and ASCO 2026 meetings, respectively. The move aligns with Lupin's strategy to accelerate the development of innovative targeted cancer therapies while retaining long-term value through its stake in Kaveri.
