Avio Smart Market Stack, ProClime partner to develop Biochar-Based Soil Solutions

Avio Smart Market Stack Ltd (ASMS), formerly known as Bartronics India Ltd, has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ProClime Services Pvt Ltd to develop and commercialise biochar-based soil enhancement solutions aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and supporting India's climate goals.

The partnership combines ASMS's rural outreach, agricultural expertise, and formulation capabilities with ProClime's experience in biochar production and carbon project development. The companies will jointly develop and validate biochar-integrated fertiliser formulations designed to improve soil fertility, water retention, crop yields, and long-term carbon sequestration.

The collaboration will involve research, laboratory testing, field trials, and agronomic validation, including proposed laboratory analysis at IIT Roorkee. It will also evaluate biochar derived from sustainable feedstocks such as bamboo, lantana, senna, pine needles, and agricultural residues to identify optimal formulations for commercial use.

Additionally, the partners aim to create opportunities for generating verified carbon credits through biochar application, enabling farmers to participate in emerging carbon markets while adopting regenerative farming practices. Leveraging ASMS's presence across more than 5,000 villages and ProClime's climate expertise, the collaboration seeks to deliver commercially viable solutions that support sustainable agriculture and contribute to India's net-zero ambitions.
