Govt to conduct underwriting auction for Rs. 34,000 crore G-Sec on July 31

The Government of India will conduct an underwriting auction for the re-issue of its 6.94% Government Security (GS) 2036 worth Rs. 34,000 crore on July 31, 2026.

Under the existing underwriting framework, each Primary Dealer (PD) will have a Minimum Underwriting Commitment (MUC) of Rs. 810 crore, along with a minimum bidding commitment of Rs. 810 crore under the Additional Competitive Underwriting (ACU) auction.

The auction will be conducted using the multiple price-based method, with bids to be submitted electronically through the RBI's e-Kuber system between 9:00 AM and 9:30 AM on July 31. The underwriting commission will be credited to the respective Primary Dealers' RBI current accounts on the date of issuance of the security.
