Dell Denies Plans to Discontinue Adamo XPS

Dell, one of the world's largest makers of personal computers, said that the company has no plans to discontinue its premium-class Adamo XPS laptops and are still available in the U.S. and Europe.

Anne Camden, Dell consumer product PR said that the Adamo XPS is still available in the US. He added that the laptop is with limited edition and has excellent design and engineering which has proven to resonate with individuals, when they see it, they want to touch it.

In addition, Dell Adamo XPS premium class laptop that is only 9.99mm thin is available in the UK, Germany and other countries.

The features of Dell Adamo XPS are Intel Core 2 Duo U9400 (1.40GHz) ultra low voltage processor, a core-logic set with integrated graphics core,4GB PC3-6400 (800MHz) DDR3 memory, 128GB solid-state drive, 13.4" LED display with 720p output capability, 802.11n wireless network adapter, Bluetooth 2.1 adapter and so on. The notebook does not feature any optical drive, however, it has two USB 2.0 ports, audio output and, most importantly, replaceable battery, something that numerous computer makers sacrifice in order to make their computers even thinner.

After the launch, the company has reduced the cost of the original Adamo in less than a year and claims that it still offers a higher-end model with better performance for those, who want to have not only style, but also performance.

The original Adamo has a starting price of $999 whose configuration includes an Intel Core 2 Duo 1.40GHz, 2GB memory, 128GB SSD, 802.11n and Bluetooth. From there people can add the accessories and peripherals they want, or move up to a $1799 configuration with a Core 2 Duo 2.10GHz, 4GB memory, 256GB SSD drive, 802.11n, AT&T HSPA card (plan and activation cost extra), etc.

Moreover it looks like Dell is very serious about conquering the market of high-end ultra-portable notebooks with its Adamo family of computers. While Dell admits that Adamo XPS is "something of a limited edition product", the laptop is available and has not been discontinued.
