RBI fixes SGB 2018-19 Series VI premature redemption price at Rs 15,102 per unit

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has fixed the premature redemption price for Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) 2018-19 Series VI at Rs 15,102 per unit, with redemption due on August 12, 2026.

The tranche was issued on February 12, 2019, and is eligible for premature redemption after completion of five years from the date of issue, on the interest payment date.

As per the SGB scheme, the premature redemption price is determined based on the simple average of the closing price of 999-purity gold for the three preceding business days, as published by the India Bullion and Jewellers Association Ltd (IBJA).

Accordingly, the redemption price of Rs 15,102 per unit has been calculated using gold prices for August 7, August 10 and August 11, 2026.
