RBI to conduct second overnight VRRR auction worth Rs 75,000 cr on Aug 18

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will conduct a second Variable Rate Reverse Repo (VRRR) auction under the Liquidity Adjustment Facility (LAF) on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, following a review of prevailing and evolving liquidity conditions.

The central bank will notify an amount of Rs 75,000 crore for the overnight auction. The bidding window will remain open from 12:00 noon to 12:30 PM, with the reversal scheduled for August 19, 2026 (Wednesday).

The RBI said the operational guidelines for the auction will remain unchanged and will continue to follow the framework outlined in its February 13, 2020 press release.
