RBI to conduct Rs 2.50 lakh cr 7-day VRRR auction on August 24

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will conduct a seven-day Variable Rate Reverse Repo (VRRR) auction under the Liquidity Adjustment Facility (LAF) on August 24, 2026, to manage prevailing and evolving liquidity conditions.

The auction will have a notified amount of Rs 2.50 lakh crore and will be conducted between 9:30 am and 10:00 am. The funds will be reversed on August 31, 2026.

RBI said the existing operational guidelines for VRRR auctions will continue to apply.
