Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has approved the transfer of technology for all conventional missile systems developed by DRDO to Indian defence companies for domestic production, subject to applicable qualifications, certifications and regulatory requirements.
The move is aimed at accelerating indigenous missile manufacturing, reducing dependence on imports and strengthening India’s domestic defence industrial base. It is also expected to create greater opportunities for Indian MSMEs and technology partners across the defence supply chain.
The initiative will help transition missile systems from development to large-scale industrial production while increasing domestic value addition and enhancing India’s defence capabilities.
