RBI imposes Rs 4.20 lakh penalty on Sammaan Finserve

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a Rs 4.20 lakh monetary penalty on Sammaan Finserve Limited for non-compliance with regulatory directions relating to the early recognition of stress and reporting to the Central Repository of Information on Large Credits (CRILC).

The penalty was imposed through an order dated August 31, 2026, following an RBI inspection of the company’s financial position as of March 31, 2025.

RBI found that the company failed to report the credit information of a borrower to CRILC, resulting in the monetary penalty.

The central bank clarified that the action is based on regulatory compliance deficiencies and does not question the validity of any transactions or agreements entered into by the company with its customers. The penalty is also without prejudice to any further action that may be initiated by RBI.
