The Government of India will conduct an underwriting auction for the sale and re-issue of government securities worth a total of Rs 32,000 crore on September 11, 2026.
The auction will cover the 6.20% Government Security 2029 and 6.57% Government Security 2033, each with a notified amount of Rs 11,000 crore, along with the new Government Security 2056 worth Rs 10,000 crore.
Under the existing underwriting commitment framework, the Minimum Underwriting Commitment (MUC) per Primary Dealer is Rs 262 crore for each of the 2029 and 2033 securities and Rs 239 crore for the 2056 security. The minimum bidding commitment under the Additional Competitive Underwriting auction will be the same for each security.
The underwriting auction will be conducted through a multiple price-based method. Primary Dealers can submit bids electronically through the Reserve Bank of India's e-Kuber system between 9:00 am and 9:30 am on September 11.
The underwriting commission will be credited to the respective Primary Dealers' current accounts with the RBI on the day of issue of the securities.
