The Ministry of Steel and its Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) will participate in Special Campaign 6.0, scheduled from October 2 to October 31, 2026, with a key focus on the effective collection, segregation and disposal of e-waste.

The campaign builds on the progress made during Special Campaign 5.0 in October 2025, which focused on clearing pending matters, disposing of obsolete files and optimising office space. The ministry subsequently continued efforts to streamline scrap disposal, weed out outdated records and improve grievance redressal.

Special Campaign 6.0 will focus on four key areas: e-waste management in line with the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022; mechanised cleaning practices to improve workplace hygiene; timely disposal of pending matters and old records; and awareness and public engagement through digital and outreach initiatives.

The campaign will be conducted in two phases, with the preparatory phase from September 15 to 30, 2026, followed by the implementation phase from October 2 to 31, 2026, aimed at execution, monitoring and measurable outcomes.
