RBI announces Rs 2 lakh crore overnight VRRR auction on September 28

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will conduct an overnight Variable Rate Reverse Repo (VRRR) auction of Rs 2 lakh crore on Monday, September 28, 2026, to manage prevailing and evolving liquidity conditions in the banking system.

The auction will be conducted under the Liquidity Adjustment Facility (LAF) between 9:30 AM and 10:00 AM, with a tenor of one day. The funds will be reversed on September 29, 2026 (Tuesday).

The RBI said the operational guidelines for the auction will remain unchanged, as outlined in its February 13, 2020 press release.
