Mid-Session: Sensex jumps 250 points; Nifty above 11,200

Indian benchmark indices inched higher duirng the noon trading session with L&T, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank supporting the market.

Shares of Raymond jumped nearly 9 percent intraday on October 9 after its associate company signed an agreement to sell its property in Thane.

"Associate company JK Investo Trade (India) (JKIT) has entered into an agreement for sale (AFS) for its property measuring 78,310 square meters (around 20 acres) located at Village Panchpakhadi, Thane (West) with an affiliate of Virtuous Retail South Asia Pte Ltd (VRSA) - Elpis Ventures," the textile company said in its BSE filing.

At 12:35 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 37783.54 up by 251.56 points or by 0.67 % and then NSE Nifty was at 11211.05 up by 84.65 points or by 0.76 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 37860.48 and intraday low of 37415.83 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 11222 and intraday low of 11090.15

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1291.00,+3.96%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 570.15,+3.18%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 426.65,+2.49%), State Bank of India (Rs. 255.10,+2.45%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1592.00,+2.30%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 43.00,-5.70%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1046.25,-2.60%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 2625.00,-1.86%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 247.95,-1.47%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 2025.10,-1.35%), among others.

Among the sectors, Bankex index was at 32030.9 up by 645.53 points or by 2.06%. IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1291.00,+3.96%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 426.65,+2.49%), State Bank of India (Rs. 255.10,+2.45%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1592.00,+2.30%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1213.30,+2.16%),.

IT index was at 15231.91 down by -149.65 points or by -0.97%. Tata Elxsi Ltd. (Rs. 640.70,-5.83%), Kellton Tech Solutions Ltd. (Rs. 19.00,-5.00%), HOV Services Ltd. (Rs. 73.00,-3.57%), Tanla Solutions Ltd. (Rs. 45.75,-3.28%), TVS Electronics Ltd. (Rs. 114.60,-2.88%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2471 , shares advanced were 1048 while 1251 shares declined and 172 were unchanged.
