Markets turn volatile;Yes Bank, Bharti Airtel most active

Indian benchmarks turned volatile during the late morning deals. Shares of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries fell 2.8 percent on December 2 after the US court denied to dismiss some claims of certain plaintiffs related to Ranbaxy case.

Meanwhile India's manufacturing sector activity inched up in November, but the upturn remained subdued as growth rates for new orders as well as production were modest, a monthly survey said on Monday.

The IHS Markit India Manufacturing PMI rose to 51.2 in November from 50.6 in October, when it had fallen to a two-year low, indicating only a slight improvement in the health of the sector.

At 11:35 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 40848.78 up by 54.97 points or by 0.13 % and then NSE Nifty was at 12056.2 up by 0.15 points or by 0 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 41093.99 and intraday low of 40744.13 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 12137.15 and intraday low of 12031.45

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 475.00,+7.39%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1590.75,+2.57%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 534.85,+0.91%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 2312.95,+0.74%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 1715.30,+0.66%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 735.10,-3.47%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 3972.00,-2.49%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (Rs. 438.65,-2.48%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 128.95,-2.13%), YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 67.15,-1.68%), among others.

Among the sectors, TECk index was at 7483.58 up by 22.81 points or by 0.31%. Vodafone Idea Ltd. (Rs. 8.24,+20.64%), Jagran Prakashan Ltd. (Rs. 59.90,+8.61%), Bharti Airtel Ltd. (Rs. 475.00,+7.39%), Reliance Communications Ltd. (Rs. 0.85,+4.94%), Dish TV India Ltd. (Rs. 13.48,+4.33%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2383 , shares advanced were 964 while 1245 shares declined and 174 were unchanged.
