Sensex gains 160 points; Yes Bank top loser

Domestic bourses continued to gain strength during the morning deals amid in metal, auto, FMCG, infra and IT stocks.

Among individuals, share price of direct to home television service provider Dish TV jumped over 3 percent in the morning trade on December 11 after media reports indicated that direct-to-home (DTH) operations of the company and Bharti Airtel may merge.

Meanwhile, Yes Bank share price fell more than 6 percent in the early trade on December 11 after company board is considering Citax Holdings' USD 500 million offer.

At 10:25 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 40399.93 up by 160.05 points or by 0.4 % and then NSE Nifty was at 11904.8 up by 48 points or by 0.4 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 40423.14 and intraday low of 40135.37 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 11907.3 and intraday low of 11864.65

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 4048.00,+1.52%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 238.10,+1.15%), Tata Motors Ltd. (Rs. 161.45,+1.13%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 1730.75,+1.01%), Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 406.10,+0.97%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were YES Bank Ltd. (Rs. 47.35,-6.33%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 179.20,-1.94%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (Rs. 2296.60,-1.45%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1276.05,-0.24%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2021.55,-0.17%), among others.

Among sectors, Realty index was at 2153.47 up by 24.78 points or by 1.16%. DLF Ltd. (Rs. 221.40,+2.10%), Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 767.55,+1.93%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 899.75,+1.85%), Sunteck Realty Ltd. (Rs. 395.35,+0.97%), Indiabulls Real Estate Ltd. (Rs. 57.50,+0.97%),.

On the flip side, _CGS index was at 16676.07 down by -19.46 points or by -0.12%. Sadbhav Engineering Ltd. (Rs. 119.00,-3.05%), Havells India Ltd. (Rs. 642.40,-0.86%), Honeywell Automation India Ltd. The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 1861 , shares advanced were 936 while 793 shares declined and 132 were unchanged.
