Sensex, Nifty in green; FMCG, TECK gains

Equity benchmark continued to trade in green tracking gains in index-heavyweights HDFC twins, Kotak Bank and Bajaj Finance amid largely positive cues from global markets and sustained foreign fund inflow.

Foreign institutional investors remained net buyers in the capital market as they purchased shares worth Rs 1,180.61 crore on Thursday, according to provisional exchange data.

At 10:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 43642.97 up by 43.01 points or by 0.1 % and then NSE Nifty was at 12809.8 up by 38.1 points or by 0.3 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 43889.4 and intraday low of 43632.63 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 12855.2 and intraday low of 12784.4

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 17445.00,+3.02%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 1330.90,+2.98%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 8047.25,+2.87%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 838.65,+2.04%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 91.40,+1.84%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 795.20,-2.75%), Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1928.15,-2.26%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 599.95,-1.84%), State Bank of India (Rs. 236.40,-1.40%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 471.90,-1.35%), among others.

Among the sectors, FMCG index was at 11583.25 up by 118.71 points or by 1.04%. Emami Ltd. (Rs. 394.50,+3.58%), Future Consumer Ltd. (Rs. 7.89,+3.27%), Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 1327.30,+3.23%), Nestle India Ltd. (Rs. 17445.00,+3.02%), Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. (Rs. 702.70,+2.58%),.

Bankex index was at 33043.66 down by -162.29 points or by -0.49%. City Union Bank Ltd. (Rs. 180.60,-5.74%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 795.20,-2.75%), Axis Bank Ltd. (Rs. 599.95,-1.84%), Federal Bank Ltd. (Rs.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 2567 , shares advanced were 1466 while 941 shares declined and 160 were unchanged.
