Sensex down 157 pts, Nifty near 14,500

Domestic benchmark indices were trading lower during the noon trading session amid sell-off in Healthcare, Consumer Durables and Finance .

Most pharma stocks were witnessing selling, keeping their sectoral index under pressure. The BSE Healthcare index was 1.29 percent down at 21,956 at 1415 hours with 59 stocks in the red and 10 in the green.

Dr Reddy's Labs, Sun Pharma, Divi's Labs, Apollo Hospitals, Aurobindo Pharma and Biocon were among the top drags on the pharma index at that time.

At 14:30 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 49360.13 down by -156.98 points or by -0.32 % and then NSE Nifty was at 14489.05 down by -74.4 points or by -0.51 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 49795.19 and intraday low of 49073.85 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 14653.35 and intraday low of 14435.7

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 833.55,+6.87%), State Bank of India (Rs. 302.85,+3.49%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 105.70,+2.17%), ITC Ltd. (Rs. 210.75,+2.11%), NTPC Ltd. (Rs. 102.30,+2.04%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 2670.15,-2.76%), Bajaj Finance Ltd. (Rs. 4907.75,-2.68%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd. (Rs. 8800.75,-1.85%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 2687.00,-1.84%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd. (Rs. 5266.95,-1.68%), among others.

Among the sectors, PSU index was at 6272.83 up by 75.14 points or by 1.21%. Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 48.05,+12.53%), Jammu & Kashmir Bank Ltd. (Rs. 29.85,+7.37%), MOIL Ltd. (Rs. 155.20,+6.12%), Mishra Dhatu Nigam Ltd. (Rs. 205.50,+5.33%), ITI Ltd. (Rs. 135.05,+4.57%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3425 , shares advanced were 1149 while 2090 shares declined and 186 were unchanged.
