Indices trade in the green; ONGC, Indusind Bank top gainers

Domestic bourses continued to trade in green during the late noon trading session as Energy and Metal indices rose 2-3 percent while the midcap and smallcap indices are up 1 percent each.

At 14:35 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 49867.97 up by 123.65 points or by 0.25 % and then NSE Nifty was at 14743.25 up by 67.55 points or by 0.46 %.

Sensex touched intraday high of 50327.31 and intraday low of 49659.85 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 14854.5 and intraday low of 14651.85.

The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 113.55,+6.82%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1049.00,+2.66%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 6328.85,+2.50%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1482.80,+2.10%), State Bank of India (Rs. 397.40,+2.02%), among others.

The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1877.80,-3.63%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 6982.00,-1.48%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1530.25,-1.19%), Bajaj Auto Ltd. (Rs. 3930.25,-0.90%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 912.60,-0.75%), among others.

Among the sectors, Metal index was at 13590.65 up by 496.89 points or by 3.79%. Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 726.65,+6.30%), Hindalco Industries Ltd. (Rs. 334.65,+5.95%), Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. (Rs. 340.00,+5.95%), National Aluminium Company Ltd. (Rs. 55.55,+5.61%), Steel Authority of India (SAIL) Ltd. (Rs. 69.75,+4.03%),.

Bankex index was at 39588.32 down by -124.14 points or by -0.31%. Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1877.80,-3.63%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1530.25,-1.19%),.

The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3276 , shares advanced were 1836 while 1237 shares declined and 203 were unchanged.
